DDC 2016 – The Color Purple Project
Every year, we hold our Divas & Daises Conference. This is our major event of the year where we host and engage averagely 1000 schoolgirls.
This year, on the 2nd of May, 2016 at the Civic Centre, we will be hosting another Divas & Daises Conference titled ‘The Color Purple Project: Redefining Royalty”. To register for the event – schools or individuals, complete the form below. (Registration Now Closed)
Purpose:
When we fail to pass on values, those values will die. At the event, we will look into passing down values needed in the journey of life especially where attaining “Royalty” is desired. How do you attain Royalty? What are the challenges, struggles, pitfalls and dangers to watch out for? What is the price of royalty? We will demonstrate and project values focused on the price and the demands anyone aiming for “Royalty” will need to pay.
Lessons to be learnt:
We have noticed that there is an overwhelming desire among the youths to be “Royalty” or to attain “celebrity” status! While that is not necessarily a bad thing, many desire to get there overnight! They fail to see the hard work, the sacrifice, the denials and the pain that goes into anything that turns out as a success. These and many more are the issues we will be looking into.
Method: Talent & Talkshow
One of the major highlights of this year’s conference is an inter-school talent competition. This talent show will give the lessons we are trying to teach them a practical effect. We want them to learn to compete yet love, to learn to handle the successes of others without feeling less of themselves…Its a lot to pack in one day, but we trust God to take our little and multiply it to a mighty force in their young minds. Amen!
Winning Prize
We are targeting the prizes to be a mentorship opportunity with one of the leading role models in this generation in the field of music.
Celebrity Guests like Princess Dolapo Oni-Sijuwade, Lara George, Glowreeyah Braimah and our own Kikelomo Mudiaga are the Guest Judges of the day! We will also be having Zephia Ovia speak at the event.
We are expecting a 1000 school girls and about 200 Divas like you and I. You don’t want to miss it!!
AfterParty!!!
After the Daises Segment (8a.m to 2p.m.), we are going to have that GodsOwnDiva Praise Party we have all been itching to have! So from 3p.m to 4:30 p.m that day, when the schoolgirls have gone..we are gonna have us a Praise Party!
The One and Only Fresh Olive Music (our very own Diva Liz and her team) will be our Praise Band of the day.
Members can invite friends & Family for the event but men will only be allowed to attend the praise segment – Not the Daises Segment!
